THE GG FIELD NOTES

How to interpret sampled skin price history

Observed asking prices describe a sample, not the whole market or completed trades.

By GG-skins Editorial · Published 15 October 2026. Original practical checklist; no item-specific rarity or value claim.

Step 1

Read the source, sample size and check time with the chart. A sample low is the cheapest returned ask in that sample. It is not a guarantee that the same listing remains available.

Step 2

Compare consistent item specifications and provider coverage. Changing which offers are included can change the chart even without showing a like-for-like market movement. Mixed finishes should not be treated as interchangeable products.

Step 3

Use history to ask better questions, not to claim a return forecast. Refresh current offers and distinguish currency conversion, seller pricing and sample composition. Missing periods mean missing observations.

Put it into practice

Choose two candidates. Record what is supplied, what you checked directly, and what remains unavailable. Keep their listing links and observation time. Use your notes to explain why one option fits your preference; leave unsupported claims out.
