THE GG FIELD NOTES

What a paint seed can—and cannot—tell your shortlist

Treat a seed as an item identifier for pattern research, not automatic evidence of rarity.

By GG-skins Editorial · Published 15 October 2026. Original practical checklist; no item-specific rarity or value claim.

Step 1

Keep the seed beside the exact finish and listing. A seed detached from its finish is not enough context for judging an item. Confirm the number has been supplied rather than inferred from a thumbnail.

Step 2

Inspect the actual pattern placement when a supported link or exact screenshot exists. A catalog preview is a design illustration, so it cannot demonstrate the individual placement you want to assess.

Step 3

If someone claims a premium classification, ask for a checkable classification source and item-specific evidence. Keep collector opinion distinct from the provider’s asking price. Do not label an unverified seed as rare.

Put it into practice

Choose two candidates. Record what is supplied, what you checked directly, and what remains unavailable. Keep their listing links and observation time. Use your notes to explain why one option fits your preference; leave unsupported claims out.
